I grew up in the 90s—when heroin chic was in, low-fat everything ruled, and Hamburger Helper counted as dinner. Weight Watchers passed for nutrition advice.
I ran cross country in college, where we weren’t allowed in the weight room because we might get “too big.” No social media back then—but the pressure to shrink, compare, and earn our worth? It was everywhere.
I spent years trying to make myself smaller—physically and emotionally—until I finally realized: The problem wasn’t me. It was everything I’d been taught.
What I teach women now is what I wish I could tell my younger self—so you can stop second-guessing your body, your food, and your worth.
